E 77 10 hauled a charter Cottbus - Holzhau on February 15th, 2020
E 77 10 hauled a full-day charter by Lausitzer Dampflokclcub e.V. and Flügelradtouristik e.V. from Cottbus to the Saxon Ore Mountains. From Cottbus to Dresden Hbf as the sole engine, and proceeding as a banker to Freiberg. First engine between Dresden Hbf and Freiberg was P8 "2455 Posen" by Länderbahnreisen Manuel Jußen e.K. - And a third engine was engaged for the last section up to Holzhau. E 77 10 was left behind in Freiberg and 50 3648 from Chemnitz Hilbersdorf took over. The ride back home was accomplished correspondingly. E 77 10 returned to "her"(?) home the next day, where DB Regio generously supported the final shunting.

E 77 10 hauls excursion S-Bahn on behalf the VVO Entdeckertag 2019
The electric engine E 77 10 hauled an excursion S-Bahn train in the framework of the VVO Entdeckertag ("exploration day of the linked transport system Oberelbe") on April 26th, 2019. Bad Schandau was the first target from the starting point at Hauptbahnhof. The most scenic valley of the Elbe river was passed along, featuring views of e.g. Bastei or the Königstein castle. After changing the engine to the train's reverse end, the extravagant train set proceeded to the centre of Dresden to cross the Elbe river on Marienbrücke and continued to bull up the steep inclination to Klotzsche. This station, was, however, not the terminus. For the first time in its lifetime, the more than 90-yearold E 77 10 passed the flyover in the direction of Dresden Airport. The airport station itself could not be entered for technical reasons, but the reversing point was the station infront of that (S-Bahn stop Grenzstraße). Final leg was the way back to Hauptbahnhof, at which point the excursion finalised by lunchtime.

Guest steam engines, September 22nd/23rd, 2018, in Altstadt
35 1097 (Glauchau), 50 3648 (Chemnitz) and 41 1144 (Eisenach) visited Altstadt for operational supply, turnaround and short-term stabling. The 50 and 35 double-headed a vintage charter from Cottbus between Dresden-Neustadt and Doksy (Czech Republic). Late at night, the 35 headed through to Cottbus, whereas the 50 came back to the depot and went home to Chemnitz the next morning.
The 41 from Thüringen brought a one-day excursion train to Radebeul Ost, placed the waggon rolling stock in Coswig (bei Dresden) and then came to Altstadt for operational supply. Within 90 minutes, the entire "regular" agenda was completed: Clearing the smoke chamber, removing slag, bunkering water and coal. And, coffee for the personnel, of course. Afterwards, they made off for their trip home.
These activities once more highlighted the utmost, trans-regional and even international importance of the depot in Altstadt as an ACTIVE institution to supply steam engines and give them a (temporary) home. Tradition is not preserving the ashes but passing on the flame! According to this motto, anything should be attempted to maintain this functionality in the future - and not have the depot drop into cadaveric rigidity.

Media conference on the 10th Steam Engine Festival
The media conference on the 10th Steam Engine Festival was held on March 26, 2018, on board of a steam-hauled charter train. Numerous journalists participated in the excursion from Dresden Hauptbahnhof to Klingenberg-Colmnitz and back. The three co-organisers IG Bw Dresden-Altstadt e.V., Verkehrsmuseum Dresden and Deutsche Bahn AG informed on this year's highlights, traditional and new topics of the festival. We cordially thank all the people involved and the sponsors of this marvellous event!

Steam locomotives as guests in Altstadt in the Advent time of 2017
Like every year, Dresden is a famous destination for vintage trains from numerous regions of Germany. Countless people can this way attend the Striezelmarkt or other local events in a very relaxed manner. The steam engines of these trains come to the Dresden Altstadt depot where members of the association Bw Dresden-Altstadt e.V. supply them with water, coal, and enable further technical treatment. As an example, 03 1010 (DB Museum, Traditionsgemeinschaft Bw Halle P e.V.) came to Altstadt on December 9th, 2017.
On the other hand, some steam-hauled trains are operated from Dresden in those days. Their engines are as well regular guests in Altstadt, like was 23 1097 (IG 58 3047, Glauchau) on December 15th, 2017.
